What is DBT?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, abbreviated DBT, is an evidence-based treatment model proven to be effective in strengthening one's ability to manage distress without losing control or reacting destructively. Developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan (1993), DBT helps you build valuable coping skills in four important areas: Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Mindfulness.

Who is DBT Group for?
Any individual looking to improve their coping ability and/or reduce distress can greatly benefit from learning and practicing DBT skills. DBT has proven to be an effective treatment for a range of issues and disorders including depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder.

I'm not ready for DBT Group, can I receive DBT services individually?

Yes, DBT skills training is optimal in a group setting, however, at California Coastal Counseling we understand group may not be the most effective first step for everyone. When does DBT Group meet?

Weekly, Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:30pm
DBT group meets for 1.5 hours per week on Thursdays at 4:00pm - 5:30pm. During that time, group participants will learn skills in all four areas of DBT: Distress Tolerance, Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

How much does DBT Group Cost?

DBT Group costs $500 per month and includes one group meeting per week.

Virtually, online, from the comfort and convenience of your preferred location.
